Hi, my name is Sarah. I'm a Christian, a wife, a mother of 2 and a grandmother of 1. Life is always, always busy and hectic with work and family, but it also has peace and quiet to it at the same time that God provides for me.

Why I love what I do:

After working in my own business for 20 years, then in a government role and afterwards for insurance and superannuation, I found that I was yearning to do something meaningful that would make a real difference in people's lives. We need support in all aspects of our lives, especially with big life events such as birth and death. For several years now I have been a Birth and Postnatal Doula. This is where I physically and emotionally support mothers, partners and families during pregnancy, birth, labour and in the postnatal period. As a nurturer by nature, it was a simple decision to go to the other end of life to support families that are going through a major life change and be there for them. To guide and navigate for them this area of death and its aspects that they are not familiar with. Families need time to grieve. My role allows them not to have to worry about the practicalities of caring for their loved one. Families then can just do what they feel they need to do in this moment, knowing their loved one is in our safe care.

When I'm not at work:

Besides sleep being a favourite pastime of mine as I don't get enough of it and spending time with my baby grandson, I also attend Church several times a week. As a Christian, I spend every day doing Bible study and also now Bible College. In between the usual household and mother duties, I enjoy playing with and training our new puppy and taking him for walks along the beach where I live. When I can, I like to go on trips to explore new areas and find different places to eat at.
